~Favourite Things Party~

Recently my sister and I hosted a Favourite Things Party.

Invite Cover

This party was so much fun!  Below is the concept behind the party and inside of the invite that I sent out.

In total, including ourselves we had 16 people.  Here are some of the things that people brought:

~ Body Shop body wash & loofah
~ Tea mug & fave tea
~ Writing/notebooks
~ Fave magazine with fave soap and candles
~ Fave body lotion
~ Fave fruit
and so many more items!

It was so fun to see what everyone brought to share.  It was even more fun when your name was called out to get that item!

Everyone also brought lots of yummy fave foods to share.  I wish that I had taken a picture but I was too busy socializing and having fun to think about picking up the camera!  One of the only pics I got was of the banner I made for the party:

Sorry the pic is blurry but when I would take the picture with the flash on  there was too much glare and you could hardly see the letters.
For the banner I used the same colour and font as the invite.

I would def do this party again and it was so fun to be able to co-host it with my sister!

~Finally!~

As I mentioned previously I was having some issues with my blog.  The sidebar on the right was not showing up and it really annoyed me!  Finally have months of non-blogging and lots of google searches and trouble-shooting I have found a solution and fixed it!  Yay me!

So now I am back!  I have changed my background to my new fave pattern.  I like this pattern so much that I even bought two new chairs for my home that are very similar.
Pics are below of them.

Back of chair

I got these for such a good deal off of someone on kijiji.  Sometimes my late night internet broswing pays off, although Colin begs to differ!

Now that I have gotten this little problem figured out, I will be posting a lot more again.  Totally missed this place!

~Last Day of School~

TREATS! For the kids it's all about the treats they give out on the last day of school.

Avery's class treats were really simple.
Found these cute lollipops at Michaels and could not resist them and just knew that I would think of something to use them for!

Printed some tags and used my 2" circle punch

Attached the tags to the front and added some ribbon

And there you go!
Avery's classmate commented that Avery always gives out the best treats!

Caleb's Class Treats
Bought these at the dollar store. I then took a sharp pair of scissors and cut them so that they were individual

Filled them with candy and taped the top on

Added some colourful ribbon

Inserted them into a bag and attached a summer tag

These turned out so cute!

And that's it! School treats are done and school is out!

~What's been going on~

Confirmations, Graduations and Dance Recitals that's what's been going on.

First we celebrated Madison's confirmation at the end of May.

Then Madison had her Gr 8 Graduation, we are so proud of her. She won an award for Most Improved Student and made the Honour Roll with an average of 86%.

All ready to go after an afternoon of pampering, manicure, pedicure and hair

Last we had Avery's dance recital to finish off June. It was a busy weekend but it was so fun! Avery loved every minute. She won an award for Excellence in 3 or more dance classes.

~A catch up post~

Wow, I can't believe that it is May 11th already and that it has been almost 2 months since my last post.
Starting at the end of March until the first weekend in May, I was kept busy almost every weekend with dance competitions for Avery. This is her first year competing and she had 4 competitions in total, one in Kingston, Peterborough, North York and Scarborough.
She loved every minute of it and we are very proud of her. She was in a ballet group number and a production number.

In between competitions we had time to fit in a visit from the Easter Bunny! Here are some pics of the kids dying their Easter eggs.

These were Madison's eggs, she was creative and put elastics bands around them to get this look.

Hope everyone had a great Easter and Mother's Day. Now that the nicer weather is here we have barely been in the house. It's so nice to be able to spend more time outdoors!

~A Random Post~

I don't normally post in the middle of the day during the week as usually I am at work. But today I am home on March Break with the kids! So this post can't get anymore random for me than 1:00pm on a Wednesday afternoon!
I am going to share some random pictures that I have found on the internet. I love anything with my kids names on it. I am big on personalizing my kids stuff because I love their names and why shouldn't I, I picked them!
Below are some pics that I have come across in my internet travels and although I don't know what I will ever do with these pics, I can't bring myself to delete them.
I've also been known to send family and friends pics of their kids names if I find them!
I'm a little weird, I know.

These are all just random pictures that I have found. If I like the pic I click on and save it to my computer. A few of these have been on my computer for a couple years now! But now that I have shared maybe I can finally delete them.
It's probably a good thing that I have a day job.
Thanks for sharing in my randomness today!

~More Valentine's~

This pic below is of Madi on Friday morning. Her class was having a Valentine's Dance and we had gotten up extra early so that I could fix her hair. She looks beautiful!

~Valentine's~

For the past 2 years I have made Madison's Valentine's for her class. 2 years ago I made Twilight ones and last year it was Vampire Diaries. This year I created Valentine's from one of her new favourite books, The Hunger Games. I even read this series and would highly recommend it!

Then for my sock-monkey-loving Avery, I created these. She loves them and can't wait to hand them out.

And then for lego-loving Caleb, I created these. He thinks their okay and doesn't really see why the girls and I are excited about them! He is so his father's son!
I have then cut them down to individual size and had the kids glue to scrapbook paper. I also rounded the edges with my rounding punch. I haven't took pics of the finished ones yet but you can bet that I will share them when I do!

~My New Favourite~

Subway art has taken over blog land. So many blogs now have it. And I love it!
Look at my tribute to Valentine's Day with my framed subway art.

(click on the pic to see it larger)

To find some of your own, do a google search for 'subway art' you will find tonnes of blogs that will offer free downloads. I sent mine off to be printed at a Wal-mart photo centre for a mere $15! The size is 16x20, I bought the frame at Michaels with a 40% off coupon.

I had a Christmas one as well, but didn't get a pic of it and so it will have to wait till next year.

Very soon I will be posting the Valentine's that I made for the kids this year for their classes.
